We even got an ocean swim in the afternoon and sat out in the sun...well, it sort of was shining through the haze. It was very warm and pleasant.
Jim had some books to pick up at UBC so we drove out yesterday and then had lunch at the University Golf Club. Susan and Brian, we must think of going there the next time we meet for lunch.
I love going to the Barber Library as it's a wonderful new building beautifully designed and it incorporates features of the old Main Library where we spent so much time as students. These photos are features of the old library.
One nice thing about the bathrooms is that there always seems to to toilet paper and the door lock isn't broken. You usually could only count on one thing when I was a student. But they didn't have signs giving instructions on washing your hands.
Always a delightful place and we got our usual table by the window. We'll have to come out when these rhodos are blooming. There are an amazing number of them and they are very large!
I had the most amazing salmon burger. It was a fresh sockeye filet cooked to perfection and served very simply with a bit of arugula and heirloom tomatoes. You wouldn't have wanted to mess too much with this wonderful piece of fish.
Jim enjoyed his burger and I snatched a few fries while they were piping hot. The food is excellent here. We've never been disappointed.
