We really enjoyed seeing this documentary last night and meeting the film maker. It all means so much to us since we know Sinatra's desert quite well! We also had our Star Gazing Party but we would have had to leave early and this was a one of a kind event. We'll get to the star gazing when we come back in Feb. It will be warmer then anyway for being outside.
Even though we were a half hour early, we just made the cut to get in. There must have been over 300 people in attendance. Great to see these events so well supported...and free, of course.

Sinatra in Palm Springs - The Place He Called Home, a documentary film by Leo Zahn, explores Frank Sinatra's deep attachment to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, his primary home for almost 50 years. The film captures the spirit of the Sinatra era and pays tribute to the unique lifestyle of Sinatra's Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.
Following the screening, Zahn will be joined on stage with some special guests for a Q&A session, and will premier new, never before seen bonus materials that will accompany the film's DVD release in 2019
Brian Ellis has been the Maitre D' at Melvyn's for 44 years. Mel Haber, who owned Melyvin's and The Ingleside Inn died recently but there was quite a bit of footage in the film. Also, there was a lot of Barbabra Sinatra who also died not long ago.
