Weather very much like the south of France in the summer

It was often pretty hot when we were in the south of France in the summer and no AC and just a little 8"x8" battery operated fan we placed on the top of a suitcase at the bottom of our bed.  It made a difference and really saved our bacon. We were always right on the Mediterranean and so could jump in at any time.  We loved that warm water and our Vancouver beach is that warm since we've begun swimming...amazing!  We had another wonderful swim yesterday and we were very lucky to get a parking space since loads of people down there since it was the B.C. Day holiday.

Great to see so many people enjoying these wonderful beaches.  We'll be down there again this afternoon.

A number of years ago I made large copies of about 100 favourite photos of France and alternate them on my fridge.

Today, the TGV came up...my all time favourite mode of transport.  Just walk on, reserved seats, can get a great meal with wine, and fabulous views from the top speeding across the French country side from Paris to Marseilles in 3 hours.

This sunset over Toulon was up previously.

And I couldn't resist peeking at the next one. Cassis, my favourite village in the south of France. Wonderful memories of eating raw goodies like oysters and sea urchins at our favoutie restaurant on the port (Le Grand Large) washed down with the fabulous white wine of Cassis...very limited quantities...you don't really see it much outside of the area.

Update: Actually, it's Sanary.  Well, my second favourite village.

Our favourite table awaits us...

Interesting article of these fabulous whites.  Virginia Woolf is mentioned.  These people knew the best places!

And probably my favourite drive in the world is driving into Cassis through these wonderful vineyards and winding down the hill into the village.  I tried to paint it but just didn't work.
