What a start to the season! They won in overtime 3-2 with the relief pitcher Merryweather doing the most amazing pitching. One of the announcers commented it was one of the most entertaining opening season games he has ever seen. It came right down to the wire. I have a soft spot for New Yorkers so wouldn't have minded if they won the opener that was in their home park but thrilled the Blue Jays won. I think the stands were at 20% capacity and it made a a real difference for fans, viewers and players.
They are planning a full 162 game season this year although I suppose anything can happen. They played a 60 game season last year so it will be great for fans and players if they can pull it off.
