We watched "The Big Short" on Netflix last night. It would be nice to think greed, fraud, and dishonest practices no longer exist in the financial world but I think that would be dreaming. And of course taxpayers like ourselves paid for the bailouts. I'm not crying big salty tears for ourselves (well, maybe just one) because we still had incomes to pay taxes on. It's all the families devastated by losing their homes and jobs that I really felt for.
I'm not quite sure what's behind the current real estate bonanza but I do know that many ordinary, hard working families are scoring and good for them. I also know that pretty much all of them would rather their kids and grandkids could afford a home.
It's a crazy old world....
