Raining in Vancouver today too

From "A Good Life France"

It's a rainy day all over France today, perfect for sharing a sunny umbrella photo from Beziers, south of France - a beautiful rainbow sky...

Beziers was where we had our first mussels in 1972.   Up until then,  mussels were those things on wharfs that you used bait for putting on your fishing line to see what you could catch....usually not much off a wharf but it was fun for us as kids.

We were amazed to see this man eating this gigantic pile of "fish bait" but he was eating them with such relish that we decided we needed to try some....and we did,  and the rest is history.  How many mussels have we eaten since?   I don't think we could begin to count!

I see it's starting to clear up....just might be a day for Mussel Mania on Granville Island.

Our moules-frites in the port of Carqueiranne .  There were around 4 dozen in these crocks.  We almost always got the Roquefort sauce....yum,  yum, yum.
