Dim Sum

We went for Dim Sum today at Western Lake Chinese Seafood Restaurant with  Jenny and Hayne.  We left the ordering in their capable hands and their choices were excellent.   What a popular place!  You check off what you want on the menu.  I like this system as there are photos and descriptions.  In the old days of Dim Sum with the carts we never really knew what we were getting.  Hayne says they got rid of the carts so they can crowd more people in.  Makes sense.

This is what we had (I took away the menu):

Spicy String Beans with Minced Pork
Steamed Prawn Dumplings (the biggest in town according to Hayne)
Steamed Spareribs with Black Bean Sauce
Steamed Prawn Shiu-Mai with Dried Scallops
Steamed Rice Flour Rolls with 3 kinds of Mushroom
Deep Fried Prawn Spring Rolls
Pan Fried Eggplant with Shrimp Paste
Steamed Shanghai Style Pork Dumplings

All for an amazing price of $41.32...and there was even a small doggy bag.  Jim said it was the best Chinese food he had eaten.

Jenny and Hayne...I know,  a bit blurry....ah well....will get a better photo next time!
