Another great day out in the wonderful city of Vancouver...

We went over to Lonsdale Quay on the Seabus...always a fun thing to do and great views of the city.

Leaving the dock.

View coming back from North Van.

Lonsdale Quay Market

We had lunch at the Cheshire Cheese and we both had the bangers and mash washed down with pints of Kilkenny  We hadn't had sausages for a long time so we were both attracted by that.  They were excellent and we found out they buy them at The British Butcher Shoppe which has locations in West and North Van.  I don't know which variety we had but I think we're going to have to try most of them!  Don,  are you drooling yet?

McLeod's display of Munro books available for purchase.

Then to McLeod's Bookstore to pick up a hardcover first edition of Munro's "Who do you think you are?" that we had put away.  Unfortunately, it was in falling apart condition so didn't buy it.  That was going to complete our hardcover, first edition set of the 14 collections of stories but back to the drawing board for that one.

Alice Munro in her own words...some wonderful quotes about the writing process here.

So,  we dropped into the The Paper Hound bookstore...always great fun.  Jim picked up a couple of books from the dollar bin and they had this new piece of cool stuff (this store is an absolute must for anyone who loves books!)...this "poetry" dispenser someone made from an old cigarette machine.  Apparently it actually sometimes works but wasn't working today...too bad.

I was also taking a photo of their "wire hanger book holders" and trying to figure out how they made them when the bookseller mentioned that they had instructions on their website...cool!
