The good old Army and Navy

It was fun looking at the window displays in the store and looking around.  I'm glad they are still doing well.  More of an outdoors store now but it always was the best place in town to buy fishing tackle.  Our family bought all our fishing tackle here for Gabriola.

Working at the A & N was Jim's first job when he was 16.  On one of the first days on the job he noticed a poor fellow hooked with a fish hook and went to help him.  He noticed he had shoplifted a bunch of fishing tackle so was caught with his own petard so to speak.  He just let him go.  I guess he got a few bucks to buy some booze or more likely after shave.
