"The Paris Enigma" by Pablo de Santis
This is a pretty good mystery by an Argentine writer who studied literature at university and became a journalist and comic-strip creator. This is his first novel and won a major prize. Rancho Mirage Library had it in their new book section.
It takes place in Paris at the time of the world fair and building of the Eiffel Tower. If you're a mystery fan it's worth a look.
I have a couple of other new books from the library that I might start although they are due tomorrow and not sure if I'll be able to renew them. Jose Saramago's "Death with Interruptions" and Simon Winchester's "The Man Who Loved China". And then there's the Maeve Binchy that was in the condo...probably good for being half asleep reading at the pool when it gets sunny again. Pouring rain in PS at the moment.
Hope it stops before Elaine arrives this afternoon! However, the rest of the week is looking pretty good.
