Front page news in the Vancouver Sun

Thought perhaps Munro might get pushed off the front page because of the New Westminster fire.   So glad she got her due!   Aldous Huxley died the same day as the Kennedy assassination...understandable  Huxley's death got almost no press.

And more from the Vancouver Sun today on Munro:

I love this article...so right on!

Super editorial in the Ottawa Citizen about Munro which includes a great quote from her about her trying teaching and why she found it depressing.

And this quote seems particularly apt.  I enjoy these daily quotes that arrive by email from Gretchen Rubin who wrote "The Happiness Project".   They are called "Moment of Happiness".

“No human face is exactly the same in its lines on each side, no leaf perfect in its lobes, no branch in its symmetry. All admit irregularity as they imply change; and to banish imperfection is to destroy expression, to check exertion, to paralyze vitality. All things are literally better, lovelier, and more beloved for the imperfections which have been divinely appointed, that the law of human life may be Effort, and the law of human judgment, Mercy."
