The bluest of blues....sky and sea in the Mediterranean

I was commenting on Carol's blog that the light of the Mediterranean for me meant the blazing sun which created the bluest of skies and the bluest of seas.  As much as I love our local ocean,  it is rather murky.

And now I know why!

It seems that the Mediterranean is so blue because it is basically dead....not much algae etc.  For more info,  click on the link.  I found it quite fascinating.
