This morning in Palm Springs....

These last two days,  PS has been getting well needed rain but both yesterday and today it was sunny in the morning so we got our swim yesterday and will get one today.  Eric Norland took these photos walking his dog, Cobber, today.  Oranges,  lemons,  snow on the mountains,  blue sky,  sunshine...paradise.

And it seems the French are coming in droves to PS.  From the Desert Sun today.

Bonjour! The French are coming!

Actually, they’ve been coming. Our baguette-loving and wine-making friends in Europe are now one of the top tourists to Palm Springs.

France is tied with Australia, New Zealand and Germany for the third-place rank when it comes to counting international spending in Palm Springs, said Mary Jo Ginther, director of tourism for the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism.

“The UK (United Kingdom) continues to be the second largest international market,” Ginther told the Pam Springs Main Street group Tuesday. Canada, of course, dominates the No. 1 spot. ...

Well,  why not.  They can buy French wine and cheese in Trader Joe's cheaper than they can in France.  It seems they are very attracted to the mid-Century modern vibe,  places like Joshua Tree Park,  and the cowboy and movie culture.
