We just don't line up for dining. We don't like the experience and I don't want to patronize a restaurant that feels this is a proper way to treat customers. We were going to make an exception for Vijis since we're in the area while at Richard's place but didn't stay the course. I also was very unimpressed by the "dining room"…very packed in and crowded. Rangoli (the cheap option next door) was pretty much empty and not surprisingly. It had less appeal than the old "soup kitchen" in the basement of my old elementary school.
Hope these folks really enjoyed their meal.
We went to Ouisi for southern food. We got the table on the open street window and it was perfect with the sun coming out a bit and a coolish breeze. We were treated well….server offered to let us taste a couple of wines we weren't familiar with and brought an wine ice bag to cool the red since it was a bit warm to drink.
I got the Fried Catfish…done to perfection…not overcooked like so often.
Jim got the chicken thigh and duck sausage in a dark roux….excellent!
And we began with a few Creole chicken wings since they were on special for 75 cents yesterday.
