Our elevator is out of commission for around 10 days so Richard very kindly agreed to swap apartments for that time. Jim can manage the stairs but both my knees are too shot for 8 flights of stairs so I would pretty much be a prisioner.
Richard's place is nicely air conditioned and has these wonderful high end appliances…the Wolf Gas Range and a wonderfully quiet fridge…Fisher and Paykel. We'll have to keep that brand in mind if we need to replace our fridge in Palm Springs. It's pretty quiet too which is nice.
It's great to have Meinhardt's at the end of the block. I've snared a number of goodies already. It will be fun to explore the area. Ouisi Bistro is also in the same block and we went there for a beer last night. One of our favourite groups from The Sylvia was playing…Cannery Row. I believe they play this bistro every Sunday. Interesting menu so probably will do dinner there on night along with Viji's which is in the next block. Cajun and southern food.

For dinner last night Richard served us a wonderful tourtiere from Meinhardt's and some macaroos…not sure that's the right spelling but were very tasty as well.
I think he will enjoy our apartment too and was looking forward to doing his run in Stanley Park. He's training for the half-marathon in Victoria in the Fall. Good on him!
