Another rainy day program

We began with a leisurely read of the newspaper…nothing too unusual there for us but we are really thrilled that the Vancouver Sun has been delivering the newspaper  without a hitch to Richard's apartment.  They really do have their act together for home delivery.  We have lots of stops and starts and they always get it right and the only time our paper wasn't delivered,  we got it in less than 3 hours from the time I called to make a complaint.  Good on the Vancouver Sun!

I looked up top sites in Richmond and the Aberdeen Centre came up.  A mall sounded like a good idea on a day like today.  We got a bit lost so saw quite a bit of Richmond which was also the point.  For a mall,  I was quite impressed by the wavy design with lots of exterior windows.  Interesting to see all the various shops…pretty much all Asian.  Food  court looked interesting too but we decided on a restaurant….a Korean one and were pretty impressed with two three course meals that cost $61 with tip.  We shared everything and were even given extra little bowls to share the soup since we ordered different ones.

Pretty cool architecture

Water feature with giant insects that move and do things.  The kids seemed to be enjoying it.

I thought Jim would like anything with spaghetti but he wasn't too interested.

My cream of mushroom soup and some of Jim's borsht.

Two half chickens and two abalone.  The chicken was kind of like how they do bar-b-q duck.,,,wonderfully crispy.  We had never had abalone before so interesting to taste.

My lobster was served with nice veg and an fabulous pumpkin risotto.  Took most of the risotto home.

Tempura ice cream  I thought it would be more like a profiterole.  The ice cream was good but didn't like the tempura part.

I don't think Jim can remember when he last had a banana split.

Every hour the water feature puts on a show.

Famous dollar store…Daiso.   Didn't find anything to tempt us.  We really don't need anything.

 Shanghai Book Traders.

Japanese toilet that does pretty much everything but make breakfast….
