We went to our local Chinese restaurant yesterday and got a good welcome back. This is a great place for us when it gets a little cooler like the last few days or when it's raining...which is almost never. When it's warm and sunny weather it's hard to resist sitting outside and this restaurant doesn't have a patio area but the decor is colourful and warm.
We have enjoyed a cheapish Shiraz but it's been off the menu so we had beer mainly last year. The owner was pleased to tell us he had one on the menu now. It's from Australia and for $17 a good deal and really very good. We don't like paying the very inflated restaurant prices for wine when it's so cheap to buy in stores. Restaurants tend to have a big mark up...very much like France.
The fish came to greet me. I guess they figured I had food.
Delicious hot and sour soup to start...99 cents.
Lunch specials come with an egg roll, the crispy noodles and sauces and rice.
Always my choice...half roast duck...yum...a deal at $9.50.
And Jim gets the pepper beef...$6.95.
