Still having problems uploading from my phone but I can do it with Jim's phone. Also, having problems getting my phone to connect to the wifi here so can't email photos to myself. Jared should be able to do that for us but at least I have a solution for photos.
We got our favourites (although we do order other ones from time to time)...Heather's Luau and Marlow and Luke's. We got chatting to a couple of Canadians who were from Newfoundland and then moved to Qualicum to retire and are now in Nanaimo because there's a little more going on. They are regulars to Palm Springs and we talked about some of the same places we like to go to....one being Woody's Burgers where they have jazz groups. We'll probably go this Friday and see Rose Mallett, one of their favourites as well. Afterwards, Jim thought, "you know, I think that was Brian Peckford, and perhaps we'll find out if we see them at Woody's this Friday. Jim knew that Brian Peckford retired to Qualicum.
Driving home along Hwy 111 we noticed Woody's is in a new location (pretty much across from the old Alley) and merged with the Palm House Restaurant....now it's called Woody's Palm House. The menu has the old Woody's menu and lots of additional things that look pretty interesting and the venue will be much better for music. And they have music every night of the week. I think it was just restricted to weekends before.
Our leftovers...will be tomorrow's lunch after our swim.
* Monday "cheap drinks" up a bit from $2 to $2.50 for wine and craft beer. They still have the first Bud Light for 75 cents. We give that a pass but Richard and Grace loved getting a drink for 75 cents and they love Bill's. We were thinking about you guys!
