"Maus Vol I & II" by Art Spiegleman
"Maus" was the first graphic novel to win a Pulitzer prize. It is about the persecution of the Jews and Auchwitz. Very well done and I think the medium of graphic novels definitely has potential to tell stories in a very effective way.
