I've found this issue rather interesting to follow. I guess I'm sympathetic to women being able to wear what they feel comfortable with. While the hygiene issue does make some sense I think it should be dealt with as a separate issue and I think some solution could be found to allow women to wear their burkins if they wish to.
I found this report from a local newspaper rather concerning. Surely you can wear what you want.
