Jim is still suffering with this bad cold but we did want to get out in the sunshine and do something. A while ago Jim noticed this pub was offering 39 cent wings all day on Monday so we made a note to give it a try. This pub is in the Best Western Sands on Davie almost at Denman. In the past we had stayed at this hotel and the restaurant wasn't very interesting. It is now all renovated and is a gastro pub. We were impressed with the value on the wings and some regulars beside us were having pretty amazing looking clam chowder and confirmed it was excellent. Apparently everything is made in house and they have a good chef. Fridays they put their $13.50 burger on a special for $4.00 between 5-7 pm and there is music at 8pm. We may give that a try sometime. The regulars said the burger is great and you can choose regular salad, caesar, fries, yam fries, or onion rings with it. We also noticed jambalaya on the menu so I think that will be a must try for Jim. We really enjoyed the service too.
It's always fun to have a new place to go and it gave us both a lift. It's been a tough haul for both of us with Jim being sick pretty much since the end of April. He is on antibiotics and two types of inhalers so things should get better soon we hope. And maybe even the Blue Jays might start winning although that seems less likely!
