I loved Meryl Streep's performance in this film but I did say to Jim that I did have some mixed feelings making such a film while she is still living. I can understand the family not being very pleased with it all although apparently the daughter, Carol, did write about her mother's dementia. I'm not really sure that gives public licence to make such a film. Somehow I missed this huge controversy over the film. Perhaps I wouldn't have been quite so swept away by Streep's performance if I had.
I think now I'm leaning towards fewer mixed feelings and feel the film shouldn't have been made.
