Brighton's historic West Pier is demolished to make way for an observation tower - Telegraph

Just read this in the Telegraph today. It seems it's been burnt out and battered by storms. I don't think I had read about that. I'm really sorry to see this piece of history gone. We really enjoyed walking on Brighton Pier but I guess the whole idea of piers is passee these days.
