According to Environment Canada’s special weather statement, southeasterly gusts that could potentially exceed 80 km/hr. The system will pass to the west of Vancouver Island this afternoon, and the generated winds will remain strong throughout the evening as the low moves further inland.
The winds could lead to delays or cancellations to BC Ferries sailings and widespread power outages. Strong winds are also expected for Howe Sound.
