"All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr
This is an amazing novel....wow! It's a WW II story really and while it is about all those particular horrors, it is absolutely beautifully written. There is not a mis step and every word is a gem. It could so easily lapse into sentimentality but never does. The whole thing is poetry really and while it is twice as long as Mrs. Dalloway, it goes quickly somehow. What a nice break to have chapter breaks about every two pages after no chapter breaks at all in Mrs. D.!
