Greetings from Palm Springs!

We arrived yesterday in Palm Springs to clear blue skies and 78 F. This was a day earlier than planned and we were very lucky our condo was available so we were able to pay for an extra day and move in.

Unusual rainstorms made driving a bit difficult at times. When we left Redding it was quite bright and it almost seemed like we were in the south of France with olive trees, orange groves, vines, etc so it's obviously a fairly arid area. When I took over the driving just before Sacramento I think the region got its yearly annual rainfall! (We waved to you, Josh)

It was quite leisurely doing it in 4 days and 3 nights and that's the way we'll go in the future. In Salem our first night we got upgraded to a room with a huge jacuzzi tub so we cracked out the scotch and the candles and a real relaxing soak. Loads of great restaurants nearby. Great hotel and meal the next night in Redding then the Harris Ranch. Wow...it was like an oasis. Built around an Olympic size pool and hottub for 50 people. We were the only ones using it in the evening and again the next morning.

It was sunny and warm when we arrived and we sat out on our terrasse drinking a bottle of merlot from the Seabiscuit Winery in Mendocino listening to the wind rustling in the Palm trees and birds singing. Wonderful wine! After all the driving
and rain it was a welcome break to get some fresh air. Then steak and lobster and rack of lamb for dinner.

It's total luxury here looking out on a 27 hole golf course, lots of pools, tennis courts, hotel,a spa and health club with massages and lots of other new age treatments like Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Ear Coning, River Rock Therapy, Hawaiian Lomilomi, Raindrop Therapy....as a west coaster I don't think I'll be doing any of that! You certainly know you're in California...

It's great having the high speed internet in our condo so I'll be posting regularly to the blog and being in email contact. And being the same time zone and having a real phone here we can also chat easily. Our phone # is 760-325-3425. We also have access to a mail box. Our address is 28-512 West Natoma, Cathedral City, CA 92234.

Hope to hear from you!
