Las Margaritas today...
Big storm coming it seems so thought we'd enjoy the sunshine at Las Margaritas. Our usual, wonderful server came today with the wine we like and water with lemon before even asking us...she's such a sweetheart!

Late lunch....early dinner
Split a Feenie Burger at the Cactus Club then for a bit a walk on the seawall to see possibly the smallest dog ever. Looks bigger in the photo since there is nothing to compare it with. There were two of these....one long hair, one short hair.

Spoiled by more wonderful chocolates...
As if a wonderful dinner wasn't enough, Carol and John sent me away with these fabulous chocolates By GEM. Grace got me started on special chocolates last week....will I ever now be content with Black Magic?
I am going to make them last and just had one so far....I chose the "Lime and Chili"....yum!

A wonderful evening last night....
Carol and John invited us for Thanksgiving last night and it was so great to be with family who have also become good friends. And then Carol made an amazing dinner as usual....wonderful salmon with ginger (very healing!) and good old fashioned apple crisp for dessert. Lots of great conversation and John is having lots of fun with his new iPad and even is taking photos with it. It seems John is now thinking of an electric assisted bike rather than a Vespa. I think I frightened John away from that purchase by saying I still had a motorcycle classification on my licence....
Thanks so much, John and Carol, for a super evening!

Happy Thanksgiving to all
We have so much to be thankful for. I wish everyone in the world could live in such privileged circumstances.
I was talking to Kerry yesterday and Edmonton just got some snow....just after Roger brought in the summer furniture. Good timing! I'm looking forward to seeing snow on our local mountains...but I hope it will stay there and make it a good season for the skiers and give the drivers a break.

Wow....pretty amazing baseball!
We've really been entertained by watching the Blue Jays. They won a sudden death wild card game against Baltimore to get in the playoffs with the Texas Rangers and now they are two games up on a five game series. Sunday they play at home at Rogers Centre in Toronto. I think the hometown crowd will be going wild!

Busy, busy...
Jim is in the midst of getting his miscellany of Aldous Huxley materials ready for the Huxley Annual. As usual, he has found lots of new and interesting stuff. He would have made a famous detective!

Las Margaritas today....
Chowing down in the sunshine and our favourite server who remembers everything to the wine we want to lemon in the water. We had our usual.
Freedom from...
Well, I'm not really one to say "never" but I really don't think I will ever cook a turkey again for Thanksgiving or Christmas. We went out last Christmas and the two previous Richard cooked. The last two Thanksgivings Grace's family had us and previous to that we went to The Sylvia. This year Richard is away in LA at David Lynch's "Festival of Disruption".
I think we'll have pizza!

Scooters
Well, John is looking to buy a Vespa. I think he might hide his purchase from me as I do still have a 6 classification to drive a motorcycle on my driver's licence. I bought a Honda 50 in the mid 60's to get to my various jobs and go to UBC. A tank of gas cost 20 cents and I got about 200 miles. Insurance was $35 a year.
It was blue like this one. My friend, Marilyn, had a red one.

Happy Hour at The Lift for Sunday dinner.
We usually do lunch here but went for their Happy Hour for an early dinner. It was a really nice walk and a great deal....Korean short ribs & chips ($9) and Karaage Chicken Bites ($8) and house wine for $5. You can also get "buck a shuck" oysters for $1 and they looked very good but felt that under the circumstances best to give those a pass for a while.
The chicken with a nice sauce.
Ribs were wonderfully tender and nice salad and chips.
Great views over Coal Harbour/

These wonderful flowers....I am so enjoying them!
The flowers Richard and Grace brought over last night have just the most amazing variety....and even some kale so somewhat edible too!
And this photo of our very beloved Cassis came up for the fridge today.

Happy Hour at the Cactus Club tonight
It was a beautiful afternoon and so we headed down for an early dinner. We split one of their chicken lettuce wraps...one of the best taste experiences in the world. Congratulations Rob Feenie!
Lots more geese in this area than usual...they seemed to be finding some good stuff too.

Warning....not quite a rant
As my readers know, I try not to get too political on this blog but I did think this nailed it. It made me also think that transgender people are going through the same struggles that women have gone through.

Well, of course you can find news of the Faculty Club occupation...
