Great fun at The Sylvia yesterday

We had lunch with Maureen and Helmut yesterday and wonderful to be warmed by friendship and our old haunt.   Lots of good conversation as usual even with the background music being a bit louder  and "contemporary" than we all wanted.  It seems The Sylvia has a new manager who doesn't seem willing to make accommodations for long time customers.   Ah....so even The Sylvia changes...who would have thought!  But we had one of our favourite servers so that was good.  We lucked into that a few days ago when we went to Las Margaritas and had our favourite server of all time anywhere!

There were some new photos up.  I'm glad they keep changing and adding to these.  They are a real addition.  We hadn't seen a photo like this before anywhere.  Looks like a precursor of the "Hop-on Hop-off".

We enjoyed our Red Truck Ale that we don't get at our local venus.  And I tried the Sylvia Pot Pie...made with salmon now rather than chicken.  Actually very good.  Everyone else had the soup and sandwich special.  Maureen let me taste a bit of the tomato basil soup...excellent.

Photo by my guest photographer,  Jim.  He took two but both were blurry!

It was quite the rainstorm yesterday and we were glad to be able to drive from indoors to indoors.  Richard and Grace and Naomi and Ray left for Mexico yesterday....great timing!

I have always loved this stained glass above the side entrance door.
