Snow? what snow?

The possible 9 cm of snow never did arrive at least not around here but they are yet again predicting snow this evening.

People are having fun skating on Trout Lake.   None of the current photos uploaded but here are a couple from yesteryear.

Good on my cousin,  John,  for getting a current photo that I could upload....thanks!

January 6th, 2017 -- For the first time in a generation it's cold enough in Vancouver to have pond hockey on Trout Lake and since this picture was taken early on a Friday afternoon I guess it could also be called hooky hockey. The picture is not my normal sports shot but it does have a certain Jeff Wallesque feeling to it.

Blue skies and sunshine so far.  It might be a day for a walk to English Bay and a lettuce wrap at the Cactus Club.

And now to think of warmer climes.  This article on The Negresco in Nice from The Good Life France today.  It's such a fabulous hotel and has such cool art....traditional and contemporary.  And of course,  I just love the Louis Armstrong statue in front that Nicki St. Phalle created.

My favourite bistro chairs....so south of France!
