Lunch extraordinaire at Carol and John's

We braved the ice and snow in Mt. Dunbar and had a wonderful lunch and conversation as usual.   Among other things,  Carol made a baked salmon dish with pesto and feta cheese....fabulous.    Mr. Darcy didn't make an appearance.  Apparently he doesn't like salmon.  I told Carol to give him some skin and see what he thinks of that.  He is one unusual cat if he doesn't love that!

We dropped into the new Stong's that is just a couple of blocks from their place and I picked up some great goodies....baguette,  croissant,  asiago sausage,  and some fabulous looking bacon.  Lots of prepared foods...you'd never have to cook again.

Here's hoping the remaining snow and ice in some parts of the city will be washed away with this week's rain and warmer temperatures.

Update from Carol:
Re the salmon skin -- you were right! He loved it. I rescued some more to feed him, and he ate every scrap. So I will save the skins in future to give him a treat. Thanks from me and especially from Mr. Darcy for pointing this out.

They have a pizza oven and use dough they make in their onsite bakery.

Carol's wonderful salmon...

And a super salad to start.
