Happy Hour at the Keg on Alberni Street

We usually go to the Keg Steakhouse on Granville Island but thought we'd give this one a try since although it's in the heart of downtown,  we can park in our resident only zone and walk a couple of blocks.  Wow....we loved it!  It's up on the third floor nestled in with all these cool skyscrapers like the Shangri-la and also Trump Tower....well,  it's a fabulous building so we'll have to at least have a drink there.  There is this what seems like a fabulous French restaurant in the Shangdi-la called The Market.  We will have to dine there for sure.

Right beside the Keg is a large Urban Fare (upscale groceries) so no doubt we'll be picking up some goodies in future after our Keg visit.  Joe Fortes is right around there too and we noticed they have a happy hour with cheap drinks and buck a fresh oyster.  We'll be hitting that!

We were very pleased with the happy hour prices and food at the Keg.  The bar is very cool and you can sit outside as well if you want.  We got calamari and tuna tacos for $8 a pop.   Finally,  some great calamari  (even the Cactus Club disappointed me with its calamari) so a super find for me.  Elaine,  we'll have to do this!  And the ahi tuna was to perfection on the tacos.  We thought we might need three items but given the portions this is all we could eat for dinner.
