Downtown Houston

I went downtown yesterday for a buck on their Skytrain equivalent...great price and your ticket is good for two hours.

Houston has the most amazing skyscrapers and they are mixed in nicely with older buildings. You might remember the Houston skyline from the movie Local Hero. This is quite a different feel from the concrete jungle around the Medical Centre area. Jim was talking to someone who said the medical industry in Houston has overtaken oil as the major force in the economy. Certainly evidence of that around.

P.S. Shaw's webmail seems to be down so I don't have access to my mail today so far.

Houston's Metrolink

A nice mix of the old and new. The older building is the Houston Public Library. A great building and wonderful trees in front. The next photos are of the library.
